What have you done lately to invest in yourself?

If you’re like most of us here in SoCal, I’m going to say not enough. Life rushes by so flippin fast! So I encourage you to slow down a moment and rediscover yourself. Get yourself done up, get in front of the camera and shine. Our sessions have no boundaries and are only limited to remaining a celebration of you and your femininity, motherhood, tenderness, and strength: all the things that make you beautiful.

Session collections start at $295 and include professional hair and make up, up to 3 outfits, a 2 hour intimate portrait session (including hair/mu) and a viewing session with a $50 print credit. More details on collections and pricing to be added soon…

FAQ

How do I book a session?

You can send us an email or call to inquire about dates. I prefer to talk with you in person over the phone to discuss details, so if you have questions, please call. Once we confirm the session date, we send you an email with the contract and invoice. We take the signed contract and a 50% deposit to secure your date, after which, you are booked! The remaining balance is due the day of your session.

Do I have to wear lingerie? Do I have to take off my clothes?

Absolutely not. Our sessions are about celebrating you and are dictated by what you want to share. You can wear anything you like: a little black dress, a flowy skirt, his shirt, or the cotton tank and panties you wear to bed. We prefer pieces that represent who and how you are, so don’t go out to buy something you’ll never wear again. We permit up to 3 outfits per session, so check our wardrobe page for more ideas.

What is included with the professional hair and make up?

Make up includes eyes, lips and lashes and hair includes curling/style. We ask that you come with your foundation done because you know how to do that best. And with your hair dry and washed the day before.

What is included in the shoot? How much?

We have different collections at different price points. However, collections start at 295 and each includes consultation, professional hair and make up (as outlined above), a one hour intimate photography session with up to 3 outfits, post production/editing on the images, a Viewing & Ordering session where the finished images are revealed to you, a $50 print credit and low resolution images of everything you purchase. High resolution images, prints and albums are available for purchase during your Viewing & Ordering session.

What is the difference between low resolution and high resolution?

Resolution refers to the amount of dots or pixels per inch in digital images. In order to have a high quality print, there needs to be enough detail, or dots per inch in the image. This is what we call high resolution. A lower resolution image has fewer dots per inch and will therefore print ‘blurry’ or ‘pixellated’ because there are not enough dots to show all the detail in the image. Low resolution images are created for faster web loading, so they are optimal for screen or digital usage.

Location, location, location. Where is the location of the shoot?

We do most of our shoots at Jackie’s home studio in Old Towne Orange with address and directions provided upon booking. We absolutely do shoots on location, or away from the studio if you so desire though sometimes location scouting and an additional fee may be required.

I am nervous! Do you have any tips?

Jackie’s forte is making people feel comfortable in front of her camera. So fret not, when the shoot day comes, you will be more relaxed and have more fun than you could have imagined. We also have some tips in preparing for your shoot which will be sent to you upon inquiry.

I’ve been doing some house cleaning lately. And I don’t just mean dusting and mopping the floors.

The last several years I’ve slowly began to implement concepts and practices of feng shui into my home. For those of you unfamiliar, feng shui is a Chinese system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy. Energy can be stimulated to flow freely and beautifully, or it can be blocked which could present itself unfavorably in your life.

The more I’ve aligned the things in my home with the concepts suggested by feng shui, the more the good energy seems to flow. I read Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life and honestly, the title has manifested incredibly. Let the good times roll!

Now whenever I have some things to organize or relocate or some bad energy to wipe clean, I reference this book first. It’s an easy and approachable read and will have you eager to get your life a’changin’ too! I’m eager for all the clean goodness that’s coming my way!

boudoir-photographer

boudoir [boo-dwahr, -dwawr] noun 1. a woman’s bedroom or private room 2. a room where a lady may retire to be alone

Welcome to my boudoir, a space to feel safe, confident and beautiful. It’s a place where you can let your guard down and have a really fun time feeling as gorgeous as you are. I have found that when we women connect in this intimate setting, we become the most alive. And that is what is truly beautiful. Maybe you’re interested in photos to give him as a gift, but you will be the one receiving the most from this experience. I guarantee it.

My studio in Old Towne Orange is private, comfortable and has the most amazing light coming through the windows. We schedule all sessions mid day and spend 2-3 hours with hair and make up.

From @EmilySkyeFit:

We can be so hard on ourselves sometimes can’t we! I used to constantly beat myself up when I wasn’t where I wanted to be – whether it’s physically, mentally or in life in general. I hated it because I strive to be my best all the time. It doesn’t mean I can’t be happy when I’m not my best; in my best condition, constantly eating clean, or training every day or at my goal in my career…it’s totally ok if I’m not where I want to be just yet.
Nowadays being my best is about being happy and healthy but also balanced! I enjoy life, I eat desserts and chocolate when I want it, I don’t stress out if I don’t exercise and I’m fine if I’m not my fittest or in my best “shape” because this is a lifestyle to me and it’s not about being perfect. Being happy is about enjoying my journey to my goals and my goals are constantly changing and evolving. How boring would it be if it didn’t! What would we do with ourselves?! My life now is about being content and accepting myself even when I’m not my best. This is something I have struggled with, but I’m working on it and I’m getting better at it every day!
Accept all of YOU, there’s no such thing as perfect, aim to be your best but be OK if you’re not quite there yet!
